The Oak Orchard Harbor Light Committee was formed in 2003 as part of the Orleans County Chamber of Commerce. Our goal is to rebuild the lighthouse which once stood at the mouth of Oak Orchard Harbor, in Point Breeze, New York.

The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation has given the Oak Orchard Harbor Light Committee preliminary approval to re-construct our lighthouse on the east side of the river at the mouth of the harbor, on state owned land which is now leased by Orleans County.

The committee will strive for historical integrity in re-constructing the lighthouse. Although present plans do not call for its light to be used as a navigational aid due to the tremendous cost as well as permitting procedures, we will try to maintain most other aspects of its construction as well as we know them.

This grass-roots, community effort relies solely on volunteers, fundraising revenue, and donations from the public for all phases of this project. Please browse our Gift Shop or make a Donation by credit card to support the effort.

All members of the public are welcome to join the Oak Orchard Harbor Light Committee. Meetings are held the third Wednesday of every month, at 6:30 pm at the Carlton Town Hall located at 14341 Waterport Carlton Rd., Carlton Station. No meetings are held in December. Please don't hesitate to contact us with any questions, or for more information.

Hope to see you there!
